Had to steal this quote

There is your plan for your life,
and God’s plan for your life,
and your plan doesn’t really count
.

I think I learn this over and over!

Our summer in snapshots

We came home to two new cousins - here they are holding baby Lainie. They love the babies!Once Jeremy had a job lined up, we went out to California to see family.

We had a chance to see Jeremy's grandparents - and Great Grandpa took them for a ride!

During our visit out to California, we were also able to stop in and see some of our friends. Apparently, Josiah was going through a phase where he wanted to be ready for any circumstance, except where pants are necessary.
Have you ever seen a picture before with 5 children ages 2-7 all looking at the camera & smiling?! I know - it's a miracle! (We didn't even make any bribes or promises)

Thanks for letting us visit - and for a great dinner!
Cousin Lexi
4th of July with California cousins
So, I'm a little concerned about Keiric making the moves on girls already!- he walked over and grabbed Miss Ella's hand and started to dance with her.

"Who me?... Yeah, I know I'm smooth!"

I love that their cousins are just the right ages to be great friends!
Keiric and Lexi are only a week apart!
On our way home from Cali, we stopped in Parker along the Colorado river where Papa was working

Arizona cousins and a couple 2nd cousins thrown in too.
Later in the summer, we also took a quick trip up to Flagstaff to see some of our college friends and their families! Unfortunately, we missed the twins which arrived a few weeks later - guess we need to schedule another trip!
Apparently, Grandma needed a pinata at her birthday party in July - the kids had a great time attacking it - though it did get a little intense. Even Ava with this fierceness couldn't get it to open.
Before school started, Kaylie and I were able to go to a lunch matinee of High School Musical. She really REALLY wanted to go and even offered to pay herself! (Though we didn't make her)
We even lucked out with 1st row tickets - she was talking about it for weeks.
This is our very fun Bible Study group right before our photo scavenger hunt - this was the nice friendly smiles before the shoving to get into our cars to start the race! So fun!
We had 1.5 hours to run around town and take required pictures. Things like: *In a hummer. *In a firetruck. *Hugging a Walmart greeter. or *everyone in a fountain. This is *Picture of your team with blue tongues
Kaylie's first day of 2nd grade! I cannot be this old- I mean - we still hang out with the college group (see above pictures)
This is the, "Mom, would you stop taking pictures and leave already?" look.

Kids Say...

Me: Keiric, are you going to read the book with me or watch that cartoon?"

Keiric: "I can do both... I have two eyes."

Me: "Keiric, please walk around that bump..."

Me (again): "Keiric, Did you listen? I said around that bump not over it!"

Keiric: "Sorry mom, probably next time I will listen."

Me: "Probably?"

Keiric: "yeah"

Later today in the car:

Me: "Keiric, the gas light went on, do you know what that means?"

Keiric: "you need to get gas"

Me: "Right, because if we run out of gas what happens?"

Keiric: "I'll have to push the car, and it's harder with my cast."

Parenting Lesson 331

"You do not have wings, you can not fly" should come before the "You can do anything you put your mind to" speech.

WARNING: When these lessons are given in the wrong order, this may happen:
1. An appointment with the pediatrician, who we love and has all these cool rooms, but who we prefer not to see all that often.

2. An afternoon of running around to get an X-ray, which ultimately leads to an appointment with an Orthopedic Specialist, who determines that this is necessary:
Now he thinks he's really cool - Not sure exactly what he's doing with his hands in this picture, but am pretty sure I have Kaitlyn to thank :)And all because he wasn't wearing his new "Super Hero Cape" from Aunt Melissa.
By the way, Keiric wanted an orange cast since it's his new favorite color, but they didn't have orange so he settled on green.

Good news is: It's water-resistant so he can still swim at a Labor Day party, and it should come off in 3 weeks without any lasting damage. Also, our new medical insurance through Jeremy's new teaching job at North Pointe Preparatory High School started September 1st, and Keiric waited until 7 pm that night to do this stunt!

**Also, I realize that this is our first post in a long time, and I would love to catch up with what we did this summer, especially since I have some great pics. I will try.
